  • A.The Company is mainly engaged in the optical retail industry, which has a much lower impact on the environment than that of the general manufacturing industry. Therefore, the focal point concerning a friendly environment is to focus on power saving and the reduction of paperwork in stores. To develop a sustainable environment and utilize all resources more efficiently, various energy-saving management systems have been established.

  • B. Does the Company endeavor to utilize all resources more efficiently and use renewable materials that have a low impact on the environment?

  • B. To improve the utilization efficiency of various resources, the Company has established an e-document management center to adopt online approval documents, reduce the use of paper, and continuously and strongly promote to reduce unnecessary printing. If printing is necessary, documents should be printed in double-sided or by recycled paper. In the new fiscal year, it is hoped that the paper consumption can be reduced by 5% and the utilization rate of recycled paper can reach 20%. For the power consumption, apart from establishing energy-saving habits among employees, meanwhile, the Company also reduces use hours of air-conditioning and raises the average indoor temperature in the new fiscal year, hoping to achieve a 3% reduction in electricity consumption compared with the previous year and a 0.6% reduction in electricity bills in 2023 from the previous year."

2014 In 2014, the "Formosa's eye with beautiful horizon" cared for underprivileged students and donated 2,000 pairs of glasses to the Ministry of Health and Welfare, helping destitute students with the free glasses.
Assisted Chiayi Chang Gung Memorial Hospital's medical services in Chishang Township and Dawu Township in Taitung County, providing free clinic services such as vision examination.
2015 For the fifth consecutive year, the "Formosa's eye with beautiful horizon" donated 2,000 pairs of glasses to the Ministry of Health and Welfare to care for underprivileged students.
Cooperated with the medical team of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital to provide vision health examination and optician services in remote areas of Taitung.
Assisted the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families to promote the issue of caring and protecting children and was awarded a certificate of appreciation.

Cooperated with the Taiwan Prevent Blindness Foundation and provided free clinic services such as vision examination and free optician in Beinan Township, Taitung County.
The Formosa's 61 stores in New Taipei jointly participated in the "New Taipei Glasses Project for the Elderly" organized by the New Taipei City Government to help New Taipei citizens over 65 years of age with free vision examinations and opticians.​​​​
2019 For the ninth consecutive year, the "Formosa's eye with beautiful horizon" donated 2,000 pairs of glasses to the Ministry of Health and Welfare to care for underprivileged students.
2020 For the tenth consecutive year, the "Formosa's eye with beautiful horizon" initiated the Smart Eye-Care Tour Public Service Program for the rural areas to serve the local people, providing visual examination and free glasses.
2021 For eleven years conducted Formosa Optical with Good Eye Horizon, and donated through Ministry of Health and Welfare 2000 glasses to care and assist underprivileged students.
Donated optical instruments valuing more than NT$ one million to Chung Shan Medical University, Yuanpei University of Medical Technology, Chung Hwa University of Medical Technology, University of Kang Ning and other universities, cultivating optometry talents.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, worked with Mingda Optics to donate 1,000 eyeglasses to Machai Hospital.
In response to COVID-19, donated 5000 pairs of safety goggles to Taoyuan Municipal Government for medical staff on the frontline of epidemic prevention.
2022 For twelve years conducted Formosa Optical with Good Eye Horizon, and donated through Ministry of Health and Welfare glasses to care and assist underprivileged students.
